Chaper 7

Good morning,

Just to let you know, I have a very dry and sometimes witty sense of humor.  Here’s an example of what you can expect to see when I’m feeling a little more like myself, I’m thinking I’m going to have to go back to the hospital and have another tap.  It reminds of a beer keg.  They put a needle in and drain me.  It’s been awhile, and I’m starting to fill up again.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy my humor on computer uses.  Haha.

Sorry, it’s been awhile since I’ve tried to write something.  Apparently, my sleep schedule agrees with Adullamite (please forgive me if I misspelled your name) in that sleeping 18 hours seemed to sound good to him.  I’m not in any shape to argue with anyone!!!  Sleeping so long also cuts into my time to make life hard for my poor husband.  LOL.

I’ve had jobs that require the use of computers.  So, I thought I’d be able to teach Jerry a thing or two about using one, but he bought a book or two and took off flying while leaving me in his dust.  That’s when the truth hit me square in my face that I’m computer illiterate!  It only took one intervention from my friends and family to convince me that I needed help.  Years ago, I thought I was really great with computers after learning how to use MS Excel and Word to break out of my comfort zone.  I even learned how to use the program especially-designed for the company I was working for back then, and I was so proud of myself the day I became quick enough to finish inputting the data and have to wait on the computer to process it.  Yippee!!!  That worked for the 7 years I worked there.  Then the store closed.  I was out of work for 6 months and sure enough, when I went back to work with an insurance company, I had another program that was especially-designed for them to learn.  They had other programs to use (like updated versions of  Excel and Word) but my position didn’t require them.  So, I concentrated on what I needed to get my work done.   This job lasted 10 years, and when they fired me (first time in my life I was ever fired) guess what it was for?  It was for being too slow!  This was due to not being able to concentrate in-between increasingly more frequent cat-naps during work hours.   They knew I was sick, but like me, they didn’t know what was wrong.  It was the first part of November in 2012 when I was fired, and just one week afterward, I was finally diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver.  Aside from general exhaustion, my disease also comes with hepatic-something, which clouds your concentration, and without treatment, can cause a coma.

I’ve told this long-winded story to illicit as much sympathy from you as I can get.  Is it working?  Anyway, Jerry has great computer skills, and now he’s trying so hard to teach me how to do this blogging, leaving comments and replying to the comments you kind people leave for me here thing.  Without it, there’s no telling how many repeated replies you would receive from me. LOL.

Grayson and Trixie are giving me dirty looks.  They say its way past my bedtime.  They are trying so hard to take care of me, but mostly they just want the puppy treats…  Uhmmm… Jerry wants hubby treats???  Well, I guess I shouldn’t play favorites. LOL.

Cya,
Arlynda

  1. You can have all the sympathy you want. You even get extra for being married to Jerry. I of course am only saying that because of how often he has sided with Duke over me in his comments on my blog :)

  2. It is so good to know that others understand, Ann. Jerry bribes our varmints with treats all of the time, and then he sics them on me!

    1. With what, Adullamite? There haven't been any stiff upper lips around here for years.

  4. One has to put on and keep on a pair of racing shoes to keep up with all the technology changes these days. Things change daily, if not hourly it seems.

    It's okay to play favourites, Arlynda...Grayson & Trixie love it...as for Jerry...he might get a little jealous...but he'll get over it. ;)

    Take good care.

    1. Yeah, he gets over it, Lee, but all of the whining and whimpering in the meantime sure gets on my nerves!
