Chapter 17

Good Morning,

Well, I thought it was about time to post another report.  Since Jerry has my November Nudges editions scheduled to automatically publish each day, I didn’t want you to think that I was overdosing on holly-jolly.

Anyway, I woke up to a rude awakening!!!  It’s Sunday!! I woke up at 6 AM, let my babies outside and started a casserole, and it isn’t Saturday!!!  I’ll have to wait for someone to wake up to explain to me what I did on Saturday.  Did I sleep all day Saturday or do I just not remember it?  Neither sound good.

I managed to get out of one doctor’s appointment.  Yeah, but I really needed to go to the one on Friday.  Both doctors are in the same practice so  I could have had both lab draws at the same time.   I think I only have one more in November.  Yippee!

It’s getting cooler now.  We had to bring in the plants to keep them from freezing.  Now, the real test is finding them a place in the house to keep the cats from eating them.  I have a peace lily that I just knew was dead, but  after we put it outside last spring (away from the cats) it managed to survive.  My philodendron, which I have had since 1981, wasn’t so lucky (playing taps in my mind right now).  There just doesn’t seem to be anywhere that is cat-proof.  Before someone tells me to just get rid of the cats, my mom would sooner get rid of me and Jerry.  I wonder if building a tent out of that stuff they make wedding veils out of would work???  May have to try that.

I have started to dread regular Christmas shopping.  I haven’t been to a Black Friday sale-a-thon in years.  I’m afraid I’ll get hurt.  This year, I’m even dreading wrapping gifts.  Last year I didn’t get through wrapping ‘til 8 AM Christmas morning, which really aggravated my family.  So this year, everyone may receive Walmart gift wrap, along with their present.

Well, it’s time to go check my casserole.  I can only cook in stages since I cannot stand long enough to get it all done at once.  I mix the hamburger with onions and peppers, set the timer for 15 minutes, go sit down, work on this report, turn off timer, stir, set timer again, and repeat until all meat and veggies are done.  Then I roll the enchiladas, pour all leftover meat sauce over the top of tortillas, and add cheese, which ties all of the components together (as I have learned from watching Chopped on the Food Network). What should take 30 minutes turns into a couple of hours, and I still feel like I’ve been hit by a Mac truck.  Well, time to stir the stuff.  ;-).

CYA,
Arlynda

  1. When I had cats years ago, they were pretty rough on my houseplants. One decided that a certain fern made an excellent napping spot.
I don't do much Christmas shopping any more and I've never gone on black Friday. I mostly give gift cards now

  2. My cats don't take any notice of my plants at all. Obviously they don't have green paws! :)
